Tea for Me.

My wife occasionally brings me steaming tea,

Nice of her to think of me,

But despite gestures, requests and such ilk

She often serves it with almond milk.

So I say, again.

Leave almonds to nutloaf and sugar on shelf,

Just a squeeze of bainne na mbó* for meself.

*cows milk (Irish Gaelic), pronounced “bawnya-na-mo”.
