This article chronicles a visit to a lakeside woodland in Longford to get aerial photos and observe biodiversity. Despite interest in planting native woodlands through the Native Tree Area Scheme, bureaucratic hurdles and financial obstacles discourage progress. The author argues for simpler regulations to support reforestation efforts.
