Apollo House in Dublin’s city centre is the name of a long vacant office block occupied in the winter of 2016 by poets, musicians and dreamers to house some of Ireland’s destitute homeless from the worst ravages of the bitter Irish winter.
Apollo Rising
And in the
Darkest hour
Apollo eclipsed the powerful
Blinding them with truth.
Hope laden arrows
Pierced every narrow
Heart. Across cruel concrete
Long beaten shadows quickened
To his warm embrace. Dreamers proclaimed
This republic again. Our Ireland.
Anois!
Let music play and feast begin!
Citizens of a redeemed nation! Eat and sing!
For he was lost and now he is found.
